Use Prompt Metrics to see how your saved questions perform and inspect the answers behind individual runs.
Open Prompt Metrics. The sidebar calls this section Prompt Metrics; the page heading is Prompt Tracking.
Choose the questions you want to analyze
Select a time range and one of the three question segments.
| Segment | Includes |
|---|---|
| All | Branded and unbranded questions. |
| Unbranded | Questions that do not name your brand. |
| Branded | Questions that name your brand. |
Use Unbranded when you want to study whether AI names your brand without being asked about it. Use Branded when you want to examine answers to questions that already name you. Core concepts explains the two segments.
Read the overview
The top cards summarize BPI, Engagement score, Executions, Mentions, and Coverage (labeled Brand fan-out underneath).
Different views can use different sets of answers, so their numbers may not match.
Read How we measure for what each number means. A score, a count, and a rate answer different questions.
Compare models and prompts
The Models table shows model-level mentions, citations, and rates. The Performance trend chart follows measurements over time. Category breakdown and Prompt performance help you narrow the overview to categories and individual questions.
Keep the time window and question segment consistent when comparing models. Check the execution count as well as the rate: a model with fewer answers has a smaller sample.
Inspect an answer
Open a prompt to view its detail drawer. Select Runs and expand a run to read its answer. The drawer also provides Overview and Models tabs.
The answer view can show source links and highlight your brand and tracked competitor names. Use it to understand the context of a mention instead of reading the mention count as a recommendation.
Google AI Overviews and AI Mode
Prompt Metrics includes Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode alongside your other engines. Google does not show an AI answer for every search, so these results separate checks where an AI answer appeared from checks where none did. A check with no AI answer is counted, but it is never scored as a zero for your brand.
Each Google surface's rates cover only the checks where an AI answer was shown.
