Open GA4 Traffic

Connect a property

To connect GA4, sign in with a Google account that can access the property you want to measure.

  1. Open GA4 Traffic.
  2. Select Sign in with Google and review the requested access.
  3. Select your GA4 property in Select a GA4 property.
  4. Wait for the sync, then check the last-sync time. Use Sync to request another sync when needed.

If your Google account has no accessible GA4 properties, the page shows guidance instead of an empty traffic dashboard. Use an account with the right property access, or set up GA4 before reconnecting.

How data refreshes

Data syncs nightly. Select Sync when you need to refresh it, then check the displayed last-sync time and any error message. Google data may not be available immediately.

The summary compares the last 30 complete days with the preceding 30 days. Complete days follow the selected property's timezone and end yesterday, so today's partial data does not reduce the latest point.

What counts as AI-referred traffic

AI-referred traffic includes sessions GA4 attributes to the recognized assistant sources below. It does not capture every possible AI referral.

AssistantRecognized session sources
ChatGPTchatgpt.com, chat.openai.com
Perplexityperplexity.ai, www.perplexity.ai
Geminigemini.google.com
Copilotcopilot.microsoft.com, edgeservices.bing.com
Claudeclaude.ai
You.comyou.com
Poepoe.com
Meta AImeta.ai
DeepSeekchat.deepseek.com, deepseek.com
Grokgrok.com, x.ai
Mistralchat.mistral.ai
Kagikagi.com
Phindphind.com

This report does not separate Google AI Overviews or AI Mode traffic from ordinary Google Search. Referrals without a recognized AI source are outside the AI-referred total.

Read the numbers

The AI-referred summary shows GA4's attributed sessions and key events, plus revenue when your property reports it. Assistant rankings group hostname variants together and use session counts.

  • AI sessions: sessions attributed to the recognized sources.
  • AI share of traffic: the percentage of all sessions attributed to recognized AI sources in the selected period.
  • Key events: GA4-reported key events for the recognized sources.
  • Revenue: GA4-reported attributed revenue when available. Omni Impact does not estimate revenue from sessions.

Reconnect or disconnect

Use Reconnect when Google access needs to be restored. Use Disconnect to remove the connection from Omni Impact. If a sync fails, check the error and try Sync again; reconnect when the page asks for renewed access.
